About Behavioral Health Associates, Ltd.
Behavioral Health Associates, Ltd. is an interdisciplinary group of professionals who provide quality behavioral health and educational services in Minnesota and North Dakota.  Our highly skilled professionals provide consultative services to families, school districts, and human service agencies.

Our primary focus is developing behavioral and educational interventions to children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.  We specialize in the development and supervision of home-based programs for young children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Services include training home-based staff members, parents, and care givers in behavioral and educational techniques.

We develop, implement, and supervise intensive intervention programs designed specifically for the individual's educational, social, and behavioral needs.  Behavioral programs utilize Applied Behavior Analytic techniques and empirically supported interventions.  Some techniques include discrete-trial training, functional communication training, shaping procedures, token economies, and other reinforcement strategies.  Interventions are developed for home environments, school, and community settings.

Our staff is dedicated to providing effective interventions to improve the quality of life for the children and families we serve.

Music Therapy
What is Music Therapy?  Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized
goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.  (American Music Therapy Association definition, 2005)  Taken from www.musictherapy.org.

What can Music Therapy do?  Music Therapy uses music as a powerful tool to create positive behavior changes.  A music therapist's main goal when working with a child with special needs is to assist the child in reaching his or her greatest potential.  Music Therapy can enhance development in areas such as social/emotional, cognitive/academic and fine/gross motor skills.  Music interventions are chosen specifically to meet individual developmental goals such as improving hand/eye coordination or increasing verbal skills.
